My World in a Glance
Waves crash and splinter,
The sea glimmering and shattering-
Teal, azure mist, cerulean, ever changing.
Land bakes, ochre brown, solid and dependable,
Soil the currency run between fingers.
Then sudden deserts rise as mirages,
barren and alone.
But the world revolves onwards
And night paints itself across the sky,
Sparks of bright white light picking out details
Of constellations with meanings only Gods can know.
The screen comes down
And the world is hidden for a glance.
I blink and prepare to lose myself
